Our Mission


Geauga Center for the Arts is an arts management organization that provides a venue for all artistic expression, cultivates a multi-level education program, and coordinates community events.

GCA embodies a welcoming, engaging, inclusive arts presence which empowers and encourages artists and groups of all art forms, interests, and experience levels to explore their own creative outlets.

  • Electrical Engineer (Motion Focus) - Rockwell Automation Team Leader, Project Management, Application and System Support, Global Process Trainer for Process Efficiency, responsible for creating and delivering training material  

  • Experience as a Stage Manager, Costumer,     Assistant Director, Director, and Producer 

  • Strong organizational skills  

Brian Johnson - Treasurer
  • Bachelors in Theatre; Master’s in Communications (Theatre Emphasis) - Morehead State University

  • Organizing Committee Member, Advocacy Sub-Committee Chair, Programming Sub-Committee Member

  • 30+ years of experience in Managerial Positions in Arts Organizations

  • Box Office/Theater Manager, Director, Designer, Musical Director, Board Member, Committee Member, Volunteer Coordinator

  • 20+ years of experience in Arts Education

  • Instructor at Rabbit Run Theater Arts Camp, Ashtabula Arts Center, Geauga Lyric Theater Guild, Cardinal Local Schools, Madison High School, St. John’s High School, Chardon Local Schools (Free Harmony & CMS Drama Club), St. Gabriel School

  • Experience as a research, writing, and editing tutor at Case Western Reserve School of Law

  • Currently serving as GCA’s Social Media Director

  • 20+ years of Management experience - budgeting, creating goals, performance evaluations and strategic planning

  • Visiting Assistant Professor in Materials Engineering at Virginia Tech

  • 8-year member of Chardon Board of Education

  • BSc and Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

  • Ryan grew up on the shores of Mosquito Lake in far-away Trumbull County, where his love of theater and music began almost 40 years ago at Kent State Trumbull's Summer Stock

  • 25 years of experience as an IT Professional focused on Infrastructure Engineering and Project Management 

  • 35 years involvement in various community and collegiate theaters in Northeast Ohio
